Scammers hack Twitter to hijack verified accounts and steal cryptocurrency Twitter was hit Wednesday with an unprecedented attack targeting verified accounts. The hackers were looking to steal money from followers of those accounts and made away with about $100,000 before the scam was caught and shut down.
